In today's Russia it's often dangerous to freely express your thoughts and ideas - they may be labeled as "extremism".

The common punishment for extremism is the article #282 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation. This article clashes with the humans right of free speech and political rights.

#282 created a special group of prisoners: political prisoners.

#282 contains very vague statements and is targeted not on the fight with xenophobia (as it is declared), but on repressions of government's critics, on oppression of opposition.

#282 creates a huge room for expansive interpretation.

Put is simply - for abuse of power, as almost everyone may be accused of breaking the law.

#282 became a tool for censorship and self-censorship in media, social networks and web.

There are criminal cases when people are accused of breaking it by making works of art.

The work 2.8.2 is a terracotta army consisting of 282 white sculptures dressed into prison robes of political prisoners.

Japanese legend says that a man who made a thousand of paper cranes, "orizuru", could make a wish which is sure to be fulfilled.

282 miniature white rōnins emerge from plaster.

My wish is freedom for all prisoners of conscience, prohibition of censorship and healing the country from totalitarianism.
